Aims
Although these two organisations have a long-standing history of successful collaboration that spans decades, this is the first time that Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College London have worked together in this way. We recognise and acknowledge that change can be challenging and so creating an environment that enables solutions to be co-created, tested and implemented will require optimal communications and a culture that supports innovative efficiencies that are sustainable.
Therefore, the aim of this workstream is to strengthen existing and create new, stronger ties that will enhance the initiation and delivery of translational and clinical research and create a culture that moves from mere participation to active partnership bringing these two research powerhouses even closer together.
Objectives
To meet the above aim, the JRO will need to achieve 3 key objectives:
- Optimise the methods of communications across the two organisations to ensure clarity and understanding
- Create a dedicated JRO website that becomes the central online presence and the ‘common landing site’ to its work for most audiences and an additional intranet for resource sharing and document repository
- Promote a culture that enables active participation in JRO activities across KCL and GSTT that transforms participation into partnership.
