Lloyd Gregory is the JRO Director. Lloyd is responsible and accountable for the leadership and oversight of the JRO establishing processes, procedures and systems that will enhance and accelerate the initiation and delivery of translational and clinical research across King's College London and Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
Lloyd re-joined King’s in 2024. He brings with him over two decades of experience and expertise in academic and NHS research management from within Greater Manchester’s Academic Health Science and Innovation System. During his time in Manchester, Lloyd was the Operational Lead for the University of Manchester’s £3.6m Wellcome funded Translational Partnership Award (TPA) designed to unblock bottlenecks to research translation. Lloyd was also the Education and Training Lead for Manchester’s Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC).
Lloyd holds a PhD in Psychology and Neuroimaging from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.
Lloyd is a Visiting Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Bolton.

The JRO Management Group has been established to oversee, coordinate, and enhance the activities and initiatives within the Joint Research Office. The group's primary objectives are to ensure strategic alignment, facilitate efficient operations, and support high-quality outputs across the partnership.
The Management Group will focus on:
Developing and implementing joint working strategies and policies.
Facilitation across Organisational Settings.
To approve requests for resources to enable the JRO to deliver its programme of work and related activities.
Overseeing compliance with local and regulatory requirements.
Promoting collaboration and partnerships.
Reviewing and approving new proposals linked to JRO programmes.
Monitoring and evaluating JRO performance and outcomes against agreed programme objectives.

The JRO Operations Group has been established to provide the Director with insight and support to enable the JRO to operate effectively across KCL and GSTT. The group's primary objectives are to co-create and facilitate efficient operations, that support high-quality outputs across the partnership.
The JRO Operations Group will focus on:
Developing efficiencies that benefit the partnership based upon their experience and expertise.
To act as Ambassadors/Champions for the JRO, internally and externally.
Exploring novel and innovative solutions to driving efficiencies that benefit both researchers and research management across the partnership.
Utilise their expertise to develop professional development programmes that are fit for purpose for researchers and research managers.
Ensure any new process/procedure complies with local and regulatory requirements.
Facilitating collaboration and partnerships in relation to JRO activities.
Providing data and metrics that monitor JRO performance and outcomes against JRO Programme Objectives.
Individual members will be expected to lead Task and Finish Groups related to JRO key priorities.

The primary purpose of the JRO Stakeholder Advisory Group is to provide advice and insight to the JRO Director, Operations and Management Groups:
Provide advice and insight related to Facilitating communication and collaboration among all key stakeholders involved in research initiation and delivery.
Provide advice and insight on policies, procedures, and infrastructure development.
Provide advice and insight to address and resolve issues or challenges that impact the operational effectiveness of the JRO.
Provide ‘sense-check’ and ‘sounding board’ functions to the development of policies that enhance translational and clinical research initiation and delivery.
Members from the group may also be co-opted onto the JRO Operations Group.
