More Than a Meeting: A Community in Action
What stood out most to me was the sense of community that the ‘All‑Hands’ day created. Bringing colleagues together in one place provided the opportunity to form new connections while strengthening existing relationships across teams and functions. From AI and e‑Research, to trusted research, international research management, and the evolving UKRI landscape, the range of knowledge being shared by colleagues is both deep and highly relevant to our work. It served as a powerful reminder that the expertise we need to adapt and thrive already exists within RMID; we just need the opportunity to connect with it.

What I particularly valued was the focus on development in its broadest sense. Sessions on apprenticeships, mentoring, networking, career progression, and leadership journeys highlighted that learning isn’t confined to technical knowledge, but shaped by experiences, relationships, and opportunities. It reinforced the importance of creating space for people to grow not just in role, but in confidence, perspective, and ambition.

Hearing about innovation, KHP collaboration, research donations, and financial sustainability highlighted the interconnected nature of what we do and how different areas contribute to common outcomes.
